When it comes to indoor cycling, one of the biggest factors is comfort. It makes the experience more enjoyable and means you can stay on the bike longer and stop pesky injuries such as saddle sores.

The biggest factor when it comes to comfort is often the contact points. These are your handlebars, shoes, and the bike seat. Get these right, and you’ll be having a lot of fun. If these are wrong, the cycling experience will be awful.

The one people struggle with the most is the bike seat. If this is wrong for you, then you will soon know about it. This article will tell you about some of the best exercise bike seats available and why you should consider them. We are going to be discussing:

What Makes An Excellent Bike Seat

A lot goes into a good bike seat; unfortunately, it doesn’t always come down to what looks the nicest or most padded. Here’s what you need to know.

  • Shape: The first thing to mention is the shape. Although we are all built differently and require different bike seats, their shape is important. We only look at bike seats that are shaped well enough to be comfortable and not cause skin irritation.
  • Padding: Next, we have padding. When it comes to exercise bikes, we are looking for something other than the lightest or most aerodynamic. We want comfort, and that comes in the form of padding. We always ask what the padding is made of and how much is on the bike seat.
  • Looks: Some bike seats look incredible and complement the bike, while others just take over and make things look pretty dreadful. We want a bike seat that will not just work but look the part.
  • Cost: Price is also a very important factor for us. Bike seats can range from $10 to $200. Why spend more if you don’t need to? We look for bike seats that not only tick all the boxes but are worth the money you spend on them.

How To Change An Exercise Bike Seat

Changing an exercise bike seat is much easier than you might think. All you need to do is undo the bolt on the side of the rail under the bike seat, slide the old seat out, and then slip the new one in.

Get it into the correct position and then tighten it up. Give it a quick test, and providing it doesn’t move or make any strange noises, you are ready to start training.

  • Popularity: We based the popularity on the best sellers on Amazon.

Now for the exciting part, let’s start telling you about some great bike seats. Here are our top picks. You will be able to get all of them straight from Amazon.

1. TonBux

TONBUX Oversized Bike Seat
4.5

The Tonbux is an ideal solution if you’re looking for a bike seat that is nice and wide with a lot of padding.

Pros:
  • Looks Good
  • Lots Of Padding
  • Different Colors
  • Fair Price
Cons:
  • Almost A Little Too Bouncy
  • Best For People That Sit Upright, Not Aero
Price & Reviews
  • High-Density Foam Padding
  • Shock Absorbing Balls
  • Wide Profile
  • Sit Bone Bike Seat
  • Multiple Color Variation
  • $39.99

We’re starting strong with the Tonbux. This bike seat is ideal if you are using an exercise bike with an upright riding position. It uses lots of high-density foam padding, and cushioning feels amazing. Paired with the shock-absorbing plastic, it is a very forgiving ride.

It’s designed for you to be sitting on your sit bones, which is much nicer than a sports seat where you are on your undercarriage. It comes in multiple colors and is a pretty good-looking bike seat, in our opinion.

At $39.99, it’s great value for money, and although not as cheap as other bike seats, it feels great quality, and you know it’s going to last. The only thing that I will say is that it has so much padding in a sprint it can feel a little bouncy.

2. Daway C30

DAWAY C30 Oversized Extra Wide Saddle
4.3

The Daway is a great solution to help add comfort to your exercise bike, and the grippy surface and memory foam set this apart from the rest.

Pros:
  • Grippy Surface
  • Two Versions
  • Memory Foam
  • Fair Price
Cons:
  • Best For People That Sit Upright, Not Aero
  • No Other Color Options
Price & Reviews
  • Indoor And Outdoor Version
  • Elastomer Springs
  • Grippy Surface
  • High-Density Memory Foam Padding
  • $38.99

The Daway is another excellent bike seat currently available. It comes in two versions. One is outdoors with steel springs, and the other is indoors with elastomer blocks. It is a wide seat and perfect for upright riding positions with lots of support for the sit bones.

The grippy surface is a lovely touch, and under it, you have some high density memory foam padding, which, over time, can change its shape depending on where you are applying the pressure.

Coming in at $38.99, it’s not the cheapest, but you are getting a lot of bike seat for what you’re spending. It will be great on those longer rides, and the memory foam will immediately increase the comfort and improve over time.

3. OUXI

OUXI Gel Bike Seat
4.5

The OUXI is a great route to go down if you are looking for a slimline, sporty bike seat. It’s also excellent value for money, and the internal gel is a nice touch.

Pros:
  • Slimline Design
  • Lots Of Color Options
  • Gel Internals
  • Amazing Price
Cons:
  • Not As Wide Can Offer Less Support
Price & Reviews
  • Slim Bike Seat
  • Designed For Undercarriage
  • Multiple Color Options
  • Internal Gel For Comfort
  • Breathable Design

The OUXI isn’t like the other bike seats we have spoken about so far. It’s much slimmer and designed to be on the undercarriage more than the sit bones. This is perfect for cyclists who are used to a more traditional type of bike seat.

Instead of foam, the OUXI used gel internals, which adds a lot of comfort without having to be as big as its foam competitors. We love the breathable inset in the center, which adds air and takes less pressure from sensitive areas.

Coming in at $22, it’s an absolute bargain, and you will struggle to find a bike seat as good as this for less money.

4. MSDADA

MSDADA Gel Bike Seat
4.3

The MSDADA is a great bike seat that feels supportive and very dynamic.

Pros:
  • Slim Design
  • Gel Internals
  • Amazing Price
  • Looks Excellent
Cons:
  • Not As Wide Can Offer Less Support
Price & Reviews
  • Slim Bike Seat
  • Designed For Undercarriage
  • Multiple Color Options
  • Gel Internally
  • Breathable Design

Next, we have the MSDADA. This is very similar to the OUXI but does have a few differences. The MSDADA is designed as a slim bike seat. It comes in multiple different colors and has a slimline, breathable design.

It has an internal gel system and feels surprisingly soft and very comfortable. Much softer than the Ouxi. It’s a great saddle if you are looking for something sporty but still has enough bounce to keep it comfortable.

Being a thinner bike seat compared to the rest does make it feel very dynamic, and if you didn’t want to use it on your exercise bike, it wouldn’t be out of place on an outdoor bike. At only $16.99, its a great deal for a top bike seat.

Wittkop Bike Seat

Wittkop Bike Seat [City]
4.7

The Wittkop is a great medium-wide bike seat with top-quality materials and a very supportive feel.

Pros:
  • Medium Wide Design
  • Memory Foam Internals
  • Good Value
  • Looks Good With Other Versions Available
Cons:
  • Not The Cheapest
Price & Reviews
  • Wide Medium Bike Seat
  • Designed For Sit Bones
  • Upswept Sides
  • Looks Great
  • Internal Gap For Breathability

The Wittkop is one of my favorite bike seats on this list and the last we are going to be speaking about. Not only does it look great, but it has a very unique design and screams comfort when being ridden.

The width of this bike seat makes it perfect for upright riding, and feels great on the sit bones. Internally, it has memory foam to cushion you when riding and adapt to your shape. The upswept sides feel super supportive and keep you in place well.

Coming in at $39.99, it’s good value for money, and they even make other bike seats that are thinner if you want something a little different.

A Final Note

Having the right bike seat for you can make such a difference in your riding. Not only does it offer comfort, but it means you can train for longer and have a much better experience. We hope you enjoyed this article and found the perfect bike seat for you.
